Restoration of a Torah scroll passed from grandfather to grandson

A 77-year-old book was pasted and re-bound, just before it was passed from grandfather to grandson

At the age of 13, the boy received a Torah scroll on the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah celebration. 77 years passed and the boy reached the age of 90 and decided to bequeath the Torah scroll to his beloved grandson.

But the book was in a dilapidated condition and required maintenance work on re-binding the book – some of the torn pages were glued back in place and the book itself was glued back to its original cover.

After the work was done, the old book returned to a proper and proper condition. The exciting gift was given to the third generation in the family who had reached the age of observance.
